Memorial Day Weekend

Wow what a refreshing three day weekend. For the first time in I can't remember how many months April and I completely had a weekend to ourselves. No meetings, no agendas, no traveling, nothing but relaxation and catching up on things around the house.

On Friday April and Lisa went to Dallas Market to look for all kinds of things for the nursery while I went to the Colonial with some friends and did just enough networking to make myself feel inclined to consider it a work/fun function (hey, you've got to justify these things somehow).

We started the weekend off right with a fun filled dinner with our friends Gary and Lisa at Daddy Jack's in downtown Ft. Worth (if you haven't tried, I highly recommend it). Saturday we slept in (doing it while we still can), went to look at a couple of places around the Northeast Mall area for baby things and browsed through a couple of memorial day sales.

Overall the weekend was a great chance to get recharged and it will probably be one of the last weekends that April has free to spend outdoors before the temperature gets more than unbearable during the pregnancy. With it heating up it likely won't be long until that scene in Father of the Bride part II becomes a reality where Steve Martin is wearing a parka and gloves inside during the summer because the a/c is cranked down to accomodate his preganant wife.... well maybe not that extreme but time will tell, it's going to be a long hot summer.
